From Across the Sea

objects made of washing-up debris / 2022

These works were made of plastic debris picked up on the beach located at the crossing site of the estuary of Ishikari river and the sea between Japan and Korea. Washed-up debris by complicated sea currents show us another globalism from what we see in the usual product distribution. An output of this work is "Fictitious Tools" and "Formalistic Objects", whereas a background of these works, there are two themes I am interested in:

Sustainability
The aim of making this work is not to use any traditional painting materials, but the works are formalism-style objects.

Surroundings
One of my interests is the existence that surrounds us from air and water to social systems. Fragments of what used to be something products are essential in this industrialized society.
